Mandatory Days to Fly the National Flag of Malaysia
(according to the directives of the Prime Minister's office)
 
For government offices, statutory bodies, local government authorities, government agencies, schools, and public hospitals, the following days are mandatory to fly the national flag:
  • National Day
  • Malaysia Day
  • Days when His Majesty Duli Yang Maha Mulia Seri Paduka Baginda Yang Di Pertuan Agong visits
  • Official birthday of His Majesty Duli Yang Maha Mulia Seri Paduka Baginda Yang Di Pertuan Agong
 
For factories, office buildings, shopping complexes, shops, clinics, hotels, and public places of entertainment, the national flag should be flown on:
  • National Day
  • Malaysia Day. It is also encouraged to fly the national flag on ordinary days.
For apartments and other places of residence:
  • It is not compulsory, but allowed to fly the national flag at any time, as long as the honour of the flag is maintained.
